Pavani has worked for local government in economic development. In addition to Acta Solutions, she also works with an affordable housing agency.
Pavani was born in Edison, New Jersey to Indian immigrants. She graduated from UNC Chapel-Hill with a degree in Linguistics and Peace, War, and Defense and a minor in Russian. She was a Morehead-Cain Scholar. Fun facts about Pavani:

- She has broken her tailbone 3 times in the same place.
- She has been dancing for over 18 years.
